Materials Specific Details

Original score, preface, instruments/notation, and special notations of "Voices of the 'Way'" commissioned by John Tyson in 1997. Two copies of score, preface, instruments/notation, and special notations. Scored for two recorder players and electric bass. Draws influence from Baroque music, traditional Japanese music, and funky rock. "Way" is an English translation of the Chinese word Tao. Within the piece the electric bass represents this steady consistency of the "Way" amongst the various sounds surrounding the main bass line. The piece utilizes tenor, bass, soprano, alto, and tambourines.
