"New Braun Bag" was commissioned by Gerhard Braun in the fall of 1992. Intended for bass, tenor, and alto recorders. "New Braun Bag" resembles Rose's previous piece "Tall P," in the jazz orientation. The alto and tenor solos are written in a Bebop style. Elements of Telemann's "Fantasia" and "Du, du liegst mir in Herzen" an old German song can be found within the piece.
