Materials Specific Details
One original score with preface and performance instructions. One copy of score, preface, and performance instructions. One published copy of "Pendulum" in 'Pete Rose: Pendulum,' 1998. "Pendulum" was commissioned in 1995 by the Boston recorder duo Second Wind. It is intended for alto and bass recorders with the alto player periodically performing on two instruments at once. The piece is inspired by the world famous clock museum Vitale and Vitale in New Jersey. The antique time pieces sway on pendulums, followed by chimes, thus the inspiration for the work. Similar to prior works Rose employs a fusion of jazz and classical music, on this occasion a modified version of "A Well-Tempered Clavier" by Johan Sebastian Bach.
